Learning Driving License - Procedure and Details
A Learning Driving License is a permit issued to new drivers in Karachi. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- A Learning License is issued for one year. It allows you to practice driving under supervision.
- After a minimum of 42 days of holding a Learner's License, you can apply for a Permanent License.
- If your Learner's License expires, it can be renewed by submitting the required documents and paying the fee.
- During the learning period, you cannot drive alone with a Learner's License. A permanent license-holder must accompany you in the car at all times.
- Paste the letter "L" on the front and back windows of your vehicle to indicate that you are a learner driver.

To apply for a Learning License in Karachi, you need the following documents:
- Original CNIC and photocopy (for new Learning License)
- Original CNIC and Learning License (to renew Learning License)
Get the Token / Appointment Online:
To get the license, please follow these steps:
- Due to Covid-19, it is required to obtain a token online before visiting the Driving License Branch.
- Visit the Token Portal to get your token or appointment slot.
